To Kwanzaa or not to Kwanzaa

Recently a holiday called Kwanzaa ended its week-long celebration of joyous merriment. What is Kwanzaa one might ask? Kwanzaa is a secular holiday observed from December 26 to January 1 honoring black heritage. Al Sharpton often said that Kwanzaa performs the valuable service of "de-whitizing" Christmas.

Kwanzaa is essentially a make-believe holiday invented in 1966 by a man born on July 14, 1941 on a poultry farm in Parsonsburg, Maryland by the name of Ron Everett better known by his factitious name Dr. Maulana Karenga. By the way maulana, is Swahili for master teacher. Dr. Karenga states that he created Kwanzaa at the height of the black liberation movement as part of a "re-Africanization" process – "a going back to black."

The seven principles of Kwanzaa: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba and Imani, were intentionally chosen by Dr. Karenga because they were the same seven principles of the 1960s radical leftist group the Symbionese Liberation Army. The same Symbionese Liberation Army {SLA} that kidnapped Patricia Hearst, in 1974.

Ron or Dr. Karenga, as he prefers to be called, had a very colorful past. Back in the 1960s he started an organization called United Slaves Organization or US that often clashed with other black militant groups such as the Black Panthers. The fighting was about which group would control the new Afro-American Studies Center at UCLA. Shootings and killings occurred among these groups during their time of conflict.

In 1971 Everett was sentenced to 1-10 years for torture and viciously assaulting two of his (black) followers, Deborah Jones and Gail Davis. After forcing them to strip naked he proceeded to flog them with an extension cord and a kendo stick. He forced a hot soldering iron in the mouth and against the face of one of the women and crushed the big toe of the other woman in a vice. Followed by detergent and running hoses in their mouths along with being beaten about their heads with toasters.

None of this is new news and the major news media for years has tried to suppress any reports concerning the thuggery of Ron Everett. Even the World Book Encyclopedia and other cultural organizations have tried to legitimized Ron Everett aka Dr. Karenga over the years as a "black cultural leader" but now you know better. Happy Kwanzaa.

One never knows does one?
